Darin also took a new World Record in the South Pacific Wapiti (Non-typical/Estate.) catergory. This huge Elk measured SCI 541, which is a whole 51 inchs bigger than the previous #1 record, which was also held by a client of NZTHL (Bob Correa) It is unlikely that this record will be beaten for a long time, as Elk of this size are a rare and exceptional occurance. Congratulations to Darin.

A wonderful acheivement on a very fitting occasion.
Tim and Becky Kennedy from Austin, Texas, came to New Zealand to celebrate their 30th wedding aniversary, and certainly did so in style. Tim sucessfully harvested New Zealand's largest Red Stag for the 2007 season and now this deer is headed for Texas.

JIM PIALA's SCI #5 Arapawa Ram
Late summer is great time to bring the family, combine your hunt with some of New Zealand's fantastic sightseeing and outdoor activities.
There are several species that can be hunted at this time of year, and the High Country Fly Fishing is near its best. The King Salmon are starting to run in the Canterbury Rivers.
Early season Chamois hunting is supreme.
The 2007 season got off to a good start with several hunters taking advantage of warm summer conditions and long daylight hours.
Jim and Cathy Piala are repeat clients to NZTHL, this time buying a donated hunt, at the SCI Wisconsin Chapter's Banquet and Fundraiser. They come from Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Jim harvested a great Buck Chamois and also hunted Arapawa Sheep. His Arapawa Ram scored SCI 128 7/8, and is pending #5 in the South Pacific Record Book.
Well done to Jim and Cathy Piala.
