"THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM"

Jim Piala's Arapawa Ram. SCI #5 February 2007

JIM PIALA's SCI #5 Arapawa Ram

Late summer is great time to bring the family, combine your hunt with some of New Zealand's fantastic sightseeing and outdoor activities.

There are several species that can be hunted at this time of year, and the High Country Fly Fishing is near its best. The King Salmon are starting to run in the Canterbury Rivers.

Early season Chamois hunting is supreme.

The 2007 season got off to a good start with several hunters taking advantage of warm summer conditions and long daylight hours.

Jim and Cathy Piala are repeat clients to NZTHL, this time buying a donated hunt, at the SCI Wisconsin Chapter's Banquet and Fundraiser. They come from Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Jim harvested a great Buck Chamois and also hunted Arapawa Sheep. His Arapawa Ram scored SCI 128 7/8, and is pending #5 in the South Pacific Record Book.

Well done to Jim and Cathy Piala.
